TheEnterpriZe

In language, an archaism is the use of a form of speech or writing that is no longer current. This can either be done deliberately (to achieve a specific effect) or as part of a specific jargon (for example in law) or formula (for example in religious contexts).

Today, the archaic spelling of "TheEnterpriZe" presents an alternative definition of “enterprise” generally accepted in defining equal opportunity in a “free enterprise system.”

Building On The Past

In 1998...

Historically disadvantaged owners of FIBRE INTERNATIONALE LLC envisioned 144,000 stakeholders of a replicable social enterprise.  Our brand, TheEnterpriZe.com, promotes multiple products, services and issues.

In 1829...

The topsail schooner, Enterprize was used for coastal transport of cargo such as coal, livestock, and supplies.

Many ships of that era transported free Africans across the Atlantic Ocean to America where they were sold into slavery.  

Approximately 4-million Africans and their descendants were enslaved in the United States and the colonies that became the United States from 1619 to 1865.

From 1789 through 1865...

The Government of the United States constitutionally and statutorily sanctioned the institution of slavery.

Slavery flourished as an "enterprise" while constituting an immoral and inhumane deprivation of Africans’ lives, liberty and cultural heritage.

Civil injustices followed the emancipation of enslaved Americans that led to a march on Washington, DC and eventually the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

In 2005...

The 109^th Congress of the United States recognized part of its historic omission, recording:

• Whereas the crime of lynching succeeded slavery as the ultimate expression of racism in the United States following Reconstruction;
• Whereas lynching was a widely acknowledged practice in the United States until the middle of the 20th century;
• Whereas lynching was a crime that occurred throughout the United States, with documented incidents in all but 4 States;
• Whereas at least 4,742 people, predominantly African-Americans, were reported lynched in the United States between 1882 and 1968;
• Whereas 99 percent of all perpetrators of lynching escaped from punishment by State or local officials;
• Whereas lynching prompted African-Americans to form the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and prompted members of B'nai B'rith to found the Anti-Defamation League;
• Whereas nearly 200 anti-lynching bills were introduced in Congress during the first half of the 20th century;
• Whereas, between 1890 and 1952, 7 Presidents petitioned Congress to end lynching ;
• Whereas, between 1920 and 1940, the House of Representatives passed 3 strong anti-lynching measures;
• Whereas protection against lynching was the minimum and most basic of Federal responsibilities, and the Senate considered but failed to enact anti-lynching legislation despite repeated requests by civil rights groups, Presidents, and the House of Representatives to do so;
• Whereas the recent publication of `Without Sanctuary: Lynching Photography in America' helped bring greater awareness and proper recognition of the victims of lynching ;
• Whereas only by coming to terms with history can the United States effectively champion human rights abroad; and
• Whereas an apology offered in the spirit of true repentance moves the United States toward reconciliation and may become central to a new understanding, on which improved racial relations can be forged: Now, therefore, be it

Resolved, That the Senate--

• apologizes to the victims of lynching for the failure of the Senate to enact anti-lynching legislation;
• expresses the deepest sympathies and most solemn regrets of the Senate to the descendants of victims of lynching , the ancestors of whom were deprived of life, human dignity, and the constitutional protections accorded all citizens of the United States; and,
• Remembers the history of lynching, to ensure that these tragedies will be neither forgotten nor repeated.

Pressing For The PriZe

One of two Biblical references to “priZe” can be found in Philippians 3:14 (King James Version), which teaches, “I press toward the mark for the priZe of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”  There is no Biblical value in “priSe.”

This same source of spiritual value recalls, in John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Our archaic spelling of the word “TheEnterpriZe” now defines a common holistic value, based on a generally accepted source of empowerment.

Helping A Few Good Folks Along The Way

From 2005 to 2008...

TheEnterpriZe develops deployable technical assistance missions to assist historically disadvantaged entrepreneurs in accessing appropriate learning and earning strategies.

TheEnterpriZe deployed its mobile technical assistance resources throughout the 6-state Atlanta Federal Reserve Region.  We traveled via motor coach and, virtually, via Internet technologies to encourage a few good folks along the way.

In 2008...

"CHANNELS" offer empowered leaders a platform for empowering others.  Words have value that can stabilize an economy or cause it to run amuck.

The Channels concept follows a process described in Matthew 6:33. 

In it, Jesus The Christ teaches, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness  (Spiritual); and all these things (Physical, Social, Financial, Educational, Professional, Recreational) shall be added unto you.”

TheEnterpriZe invites serious leaders to a proactive network of channels that produces results.  You bring the message! We’ll add methods and means. 

...“for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.”

·         The Conference Center is a revenue-generating collaboration environment that integrates diverse ideas into strategic event planning.

·         FDIC MoneySmart is a  FREE financial literacy program of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).

·         Money-n-the-Bank is an economic empowerment program where an individual documents goals (Spiritual, Physical, Social, Financial, Educational, Professional, Recreational) and encourages 12 others to do the same.

·         THE ANNUAL YOUTH ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS is a FREE capacity building program of Youth Achievers USA Institute based on "the Whole Village" it takes to raise a child.  The program promotes a common, nonreligious universal spiritual value, "I believe I can achieve whatever I believe I can achieve."

·         The American Mentor Wire Service is a FREE online news service.  Participating youth, their mentors and local communities use this blog to write their visions, share local needs and report on achievements.

·         YouTube Video is a Google.com advertising strategy.  It partners thousands of content providers, including CBS, BBC, Universal Music Group, Sony Music Group, Warner Music Group, NBA, The Sundance Channel, and many more.  These partnerships and the wide range of content they represent provide appropriate environments for brand marketers and countless opportunities for high-profile, low cost advertising placements.
